The Alphabet Challenge -N-

Reports of a very unusual event are being reported. Breaking news says lazy fecker  blogger Romano has actually posted twice in one day...I think it's a rumour of course.

I totally struggled finding stuff to wear for this weeks alphabet challenge. Eventually I found the tasselled sweater dress and built the outfit around that.

There is an amazing sale on at the moment at Natural Beauty. Everything is 40L$, including skin fat packs. I don't know when this finishes but I urge you to run run..and then run some more to pick up some of these beautiful skins. The pic below has only been lightly edited (cropped and brightened) to enable you to see just how nice these skins are. I am wearing tattoo lashes which are not included.

Walking it off

After a major Christmas food overload a nice walk in the snow was needed, well at least in SL it was.

I wanted to show a few of the nice things that were given out as group gifts or just seasonal freebies.

SF designs gave us this stylish winter coat in their subscribo. A free fur hat and gloves are also available in store. If you want a well made coat check out SF Designs. Swafette Firefly knows how to put a coat together IMO. Male and Female versions of the coat are included.

To keep our pixel ears warm on all the beautiful snowy sims that are around at the moment, a cute hat is always needed. This hat/hair is one of the instore 'Happy Christmas' gifts from Analog Dog. The hat is texture change. I opted for the 'Red Tweed' to match the coat. Queue Marlowe is the Queen of curly hair textures in SL so if you want soft bouncy curls TP your way to Analog Dog. There are two other free styles also available.

Lastly my patchwork boots which are an instore freebie at Lassitude and Ennui. These are beautifully made boots and come with the alpha foot hider for the V2 viewers.

So if your wallet is looking slightly empty after the Xmas indulgences why not log in and pick up a few freebies.

The Alphabet Challenge -M-

Week Thirteen in the alphabet challenge is here already. Another snowy pic and another mix of old and new items.

I bought a super cute little snow scene from the Marketplace and couldn't resist using it for this weeks alphabet challenge pic. It's available here. The snowman was not included but he can be found here.

I wanted to wear the hair and hat combo from MINA and decided that Asia needed a coat to wear with it. After much searching I settled on the 'Mod Coat' by Coco.

Further skin folder rummaging found me the Lindsay skin from Mambo Chic. The skin is paler than I would usually choose for Asia,but seems to work with the red hair.

Although it's not really visible, there is a dress under the coat. It's the 'Where is...' hunt gift from Sticky Fingers,'My Black Cable Knit Sweater Dress'.

An old pair of boots from Kookie (2009) and the free scarf from Mr Poet and Asia was ready to finish  building Mr Snowman.

Ideal Ison

I have been definitely shopping less than I usually do. Time to change that!

I want to show you two new jackets I picked up yesterday and today.

I finally got to the Vintage Fair. While there I picked up the 'One Button Blazer' from Ison. This is a fabulous jacket both in texture and design. The Vintage Fair is over now. I expect the jacket will be available at Ison stores soon.

I wore the figure hugging cropped pants from Fishy Strawberry. The slim line of the pants worked out great with the fitted jacket. The jacket would also work over a dress or wear with jeans/leather pants for a more edgy look. This is a staple item for your wardrobe Ladies.

The shoes are from G.Field and of course they are amazingly well made (as is everything from that store)

The Angel necklace is from ByKay and was a KittyCat Advent Calendar gift. The gift is only available for one day (and this not the day, sorry) The earrings were also an Advent Calendar gift, this time from Orage Creations.

My second jacket purchase from Ison is the 'Belted Fur Vest' (for Project Themory). This reminded me of something a posh lady would wear while hanging out at some exclusive ski resort. This is a steal at 75L$. I picked it up in black too.

I teamed it with the wedge boots from WOot They are available for 99L$ at the XYRoom event.

 

A pair of cream cropped pants from DCNY and a blouse from Jane and I was ready to be a posh bird in a posh ski resort, actually it was the Kittycat Winter Wonderland Sim, but shuhhh if you don't tell...neither will I.

The Alphabet Challenge -L-

I have mislaid my blogging mojo it seems. Nothing I put on looks right at the moment, I don't know why? I am in blogging -L- (feeble joke..hey who cares?)

As it can be any season I want in SL I usually opt for sunny sims and summery clothes (until something winter like and cute catches my eye) Therefore I can wear white any month of the year.

The one shouldered top is an old item from Pink Outfitters and the linen pants were a Seasons Hunt find from Willow. Don't we wish RL linen pants looked as good. I wear them for 10 minutes in RL and they look like rags.

The cardigan is from Lelutka. I got this a while ago. The designs are so classic you are able to keep pulling them out of your inventory for months and months and they still look on trend IMO. I teamed the sleek bob also from Leluka with it.

I opted for a skin from Lara Hurley. The faces always look cute/innocent to me and sometimes that works better than a glam sophisticated face (rambling now).

The Alphabet Challenge -J-

Ten weeks into the Alphabet Challenge already. The weeks are really flying by.

Looking through my inventory there were two obvious candidates for 'J', Jane and JustB.

My jacket is part of a trouser suit I got a while ago from Jane. The clothes there are all beautifully designed and look very realistic. Janie Marlowe's mesh items are phenomenal too.I am also wearing the layering t-shirt in blush. This was a free item, it's not available now BUT, there are two freebies currently instore. A huge pack of tanks and a pack of bodysuits/layering romper.

I heard today that JustB is closing in a couple of weeks *sad face*. I love their pencil skirts and have them in a couple of colours. I also chose to wear the stiletto's from JustB.

I pulled out another Glam Affair freebie, this time it's Jadis in tan. It was a Xmas 2010 gift.

My updo is from Damselfly. I like that it has a fringe (bangs). I am a big fan of styles with a fringe.

My jewellery is 'Jungle' from Glamorize.

52WOC-Thoughts & Top 15

It certainly doesn't seem like a year since I decided to participate in Luna's 52 Weeks of Colour challenge. A year ago I was a relatively new blogger and still am compared to some others. I honestly didn't think I could or would complete the full 52 weeks.

So what has happened or changed in the past year? There have been no drastic changes to my SL. I am still a lazy blogger and pic editor although I am getting a wee bit better. My photography and editing has improved (I think). I am getting around the grid a little more, checking out new stores or scouting for nice locations to take pics. I still spend way too much time standing in my SL garden with my kittycats, sorting inventory or IM'ing people.

Okay here comes the sentimental bit. I would like to take this opportunity to Thank everyone who has commented on my blog posts. It means a lot to me that someone would take the time to do that. A big Thank You to the ladies (and gent) who now follow my blog too. Of course my last Thank You goes to Luna for throwing down the challenge and for the upcoming 52WOCC part deux.

52 Weeks of Colour, you have challenged me, inspired me, and sometimes frustrated the heck out of me but I will miss you (until January at least) :)

Works hard for the money

 

I am happy to see the end of Halloween (black overload) So a more colourful post today.

Beautiful Dirty Rich have their November group gift out, the 'Sweet Autumn' dress. The gift includes much more than the dress and hat worn, there are socks and boots included too. The dress comes with a shawl collar but I preferred it without.

I added the Ginger belt in black by Nyte'n'Day and the Platform Stiletto's by JustB.

A simple but cute outfit I think.

Just in case you have been living in a very deep secluded cave for the last month and didn't know, Halloween is HERE. Bet you're really surprised now huh?

As there has been such great Halloween goodies available it seems kind of ungrateful/lazy not to blog just a few.

I jumped on the vampire theme (who among us doesn't have a vampire 'thing' at the moment?  I know I DO).

I am wearing the Elvira dress by Sassy, this time in black. This is perfect for a sexy vampire look.  Lots of cleavage and even more thigh.

The skin is the Halloween group gift from Glam Affair, it's extremely pale but beautiful. I added a deeper red lipstick layer from Baiastice, a teeth tattoo from Tuli and the free fangs from ni.Ju.
  

The Angelina earrings and necklace are the Virtual Impressions Halloween group gift. This is also a pay to join group but it's worth it as they give out regular group gifts.

The demonic eyes are from BND. I got them from the Marketplace. The pack includes five colours  and costs L$20.

I kept the hair sleek and simple. It's the Amacci hair base2 in Jet Black and a hair knot at the nape of the neck (you can't actually see it in the pics, but take my word..it's there)

The super long nails are from Lovesoul. They are colour change via a menu and are my favorite nails at the moment.

Last but not least are my spider shoes. They are the Halloween group gift from Perfect10 (fee to join this group). The spider is great, although he did bite me Ouchie!

The Alphabet Challenge -I-

Ibizarre sprang straight into my head when the letter "I" came up. This store has been around for a very long time and always has great stuff. The outfit worn is an older design from Ibizarre, still cute and still very wearable.

I dug deep again this week into my skin folder and pulled out the IFE skin from Lelutka. I used to love this skin, it has a glamorous quality to it.

My inventory is a treasure trove of old items. Another of which is the Joi hair from Iconic. It was a Hair Fair 2010 gift.

The Egoista Platform Heels from Indrya Designs took care of my footware.

My accessories include earrings/bangle from Ticky Tacky and a scarf from Ison. The scarf is an instore freebie at the moment here.

52 Weeks of Colour-Orange!

The last colour in the 52WOC challenge. I wont ramble on about my feelings at the end of the challenge  I will save it for next week and the 'best of' post.

I chose a pencil skirt from The Secret Store. It's vee-rry figure hugging (no SL cookies if you want to wear this skirt). A great range of autumnal colours are available. It also comes with a system skirt option which I am not wearing.

To give the outfit some zing I opted for the bold print of the 'Santana Shirt' by Jack Spoon. It's available on the Market Place for 50L$.

I wanted to show the 'Giabli' hair base from S H I. It comes with a funky short hair attachment, but I just love the base on it's own. Male and female sizes are included in the price of 100L$. It may not be every one's cup of tea but I think it's chic and stylish.

I grabbed up the berry.berry ultra lush green earrings from the marketplace a few months ago for 10L$, there is now a matching necklace for the same price.

The Alphabet Challenge *H*

Week Eight...off we go.

Another week of new & old. The skirt and cropped yellow cardigan are past hunt items from Hyper Couture. I don't know if that store is open now, I haven't seen anything about it for a while. Their blog hasn't been updated since March and I couldn't find anything inworld. Shame really they had great stuff.

My jacket is from Hermony. I got it in their sale a few months back.  It's a nice rich chocolate colour and works great with skirts and pants.

The 'Here' hair is from [elikatira] who are having a BIG sale on at the moment. 70% off. I picked up a couple of 'do's but I have a feeling I will be back to pick up a couple more. The sale runs until October 30th.

The shoes and glasses are both from Hoc. They are both colour change via a hud and ridiculously cheap for the quality.

I struggled again finding a skin to wear. I am not going to be buying a new 'letter suitable' skin every week (my skin folder would explode) so I am having to dig deep into the dusty corners of my inventory. Eventually I found the Heather skin from Lara Hurly Skins. This was a group or instore freebie last year.

52 Weeks of Colour-Cream!

Welcome to my penultimate blog in the 52 WOC challenge. Please move right to the end of the row and take your seats. *Grins!

I chose a more 'dressy' dress for this week and the 'Elvira' dress from Sassy ticked all the boxes for me. The colour I am wearing is 'Stained White' (it looks cream to me) The dress is available in other colours, there is a black one that would be great for Halloween.

I like the"Vilda"boots from G.Field. The ankle wrap is very unusual but elegant. As with most things from G.Field the textures and shape are great. There is a feather decoration on the ankle wrap which can be turned off via a menu.

I wanted formal but funky hair and the 'Hary2' from Mirai Style fitted the bill perfectly. It's not a new release.Check out Mirai Style as they always have funky 'do's.

I am still loving the EOS skin (this time with a dark pink lipstick) so I opted for that this week. It's a strong makeup but I like that.

I added the'Pearls & Lace' necklace from League (old Fifty Linden Friday item) and filed away another 52WOC post.

Along came a spider

It's most definitely hunt season in Second Life. 

The sweater I am wearing is the INN Hunt (until 30 October) item from Sakide. It includes black red and white sweaters.It works great with the free leggings from G.Field

The 'Apple' hair is the The Seasons Hunt (until October 29) gift from Fri.day. Seven colours are included. I did re-colour the hat for the pics.

It's been a while since I visited G.Fields so I tp'd over. It was one of my better ideas as I found there is a 50% sale on selected orange and purple stuff. There are several free/special priced Halloween items available too. I had to pick up the 'Alex-Purple Patent' shoes for 50L$ and the spiderweb leggings worn in the pics.

My necklace is also a Seasons Hunt prize and from Caroline's Jewellery.

The Alphabet Challenge -G-

I thought I had finished my styling for this weeks challenge. I began taking pics and realised I had in fact done F again instead of G stoopid! Asia.

After throwing a semi hissy fit I started again. I didn't go shopping today (yet) so nothing worn is a new item, although some of it is still available.

The Germanotta trousers from R.icielli are one of my favorites. I teamed them with an off the shoulder sweater from Lazy Artist, unfortunately the store is now closed.

The hair is from Loq. Can you imagine how much hair product it would take? to get hair like that.

I chose the Eva skin from Glam Affair to wear this week, it was the valentines 2011 gift

My shoes are the Kylie shoes from Gaeline. I threw on a belt from Nyte'N'Day and that finished off G for me.

52 Weeks of Colour-Mulberry

It feels like I blinked and the 52 Weeks of Colour is almost over.

Mulberry to me is a darkish pinky/plum..so here it is.

I chose a casual set of trousers and sweater by Sn@tch which incorporates a lot of pink/purple/plum shades, hopefully one of which will be mulberry. :)

There is 50% off the newest releases at Boon. I grabbed the TUN247 which does not include the tattoo layer base :( The hair base should be included with the hair IMO.

The bag is a dollarbie from The Marketplace, very useful for those pixel keys phone etc :p

The jewellery is from PurpleMoon. It's the 'O Sole Mio' set which includes necklace and earrings. It's available in the subscribo. Click the first option in the menu.

My skin is 'Eos' by Ricielli. A pack of 20 makeups costs 600L$ on the marketplace. This is a more mature looking skin which I like. I am not a huge fan of the teenage looking skins.

The Alphabet Challenge -F-

Week Six...Fabulous Fragrant F.

In an attempt to not overspend participating in blog challenges. This week it's new dress and hair, older boots and skin.

I chose the Suede and Wool dress by Fishy Strawberry which is available for 70L$ at The Dressing Room. This is a versatile dress, I tried it with leggings and jeans and it looked as cute as it does worn with just the boots.

My hair is from EMO-tions. Anyone for a big, wild, tousled head of spiral curls?.....ME ME...yes please.

 

The hippychicks boots are an old group gift from FM shoes which are still available instore. They are bright and fun and FREE.

The skin worn is from Filthy. It's a old hunt gift from the YIBH. (your inner bunny hunt)

Jewellery beginning with 'F'? Has to be Finesmiths and I chose the Hara necklace to compliment the neutral colour of the dress.

52 Weeks of Colour-Wenge!

At last an unusual colour I have heard of. I have Wenge furniture and it's a dark almost black wood. So using my lounge furniture for inspiration here is this weeks colour challenge.

My interpretation is much darker/different than Luna's colour swatch (again)

I hit the 50L$ sale at JustB and picked up the suede pencil skirt and sweater. The sale is still on and worth a visit.

My hat is part of the latest group gift from +*JILL*+. This was a store I always liked but it closed a while ago. To my delight while looking for something else in search I spotted the 'Jill' group and joined again. Jill Lemons profile said there will be another store inworld again soon. Check the notices for the gift which includes two dresses (brown and grey) and matching hat.

My boots are the always stylish prestige boots by Bax Coen. Jewellery is from Purple Moon Creations and YS&YS. The necklace is a dollarbie which is still available in the shop (check the bottles on the bar)

I allowed Asia to buy the fatpack of the latest Belleza skin 'Chloe' and damn!! it's a pretty skin. The makeup range is very diverse and runs from classic nude/neutral to more vivid dramatic make-ups, and it's fab-u-lous! I want to have Tricky's beautifully skinned love child :)

The Alphabet Challenge - 'E'

Week five of the alphabet challenge. This week I used a combination of old, new, free and not so free.

My inventory is like the 'Antiques Roadshow' of SL design and fashion. I keep a lot of old things hoping that one day Asia will pull it from the closet shrieking..'I can soooooooo wear this again' and this week she did.

Some of this stuff is from 2009/2010 (told ya I hoard stuff) so don't be surprised if it's no longer available. What is still available is, the hair, skin and shoes (freebie from Enkythings). The jewellery was from The Cart Sale (now finished) and is by EED, who have a SALE on. I have no idea where the belt came from,it is one of those mystery items you find while bungee jumping through your inventory. The store is listed as Eden! good luck with finding it, I tried.

52 Weeks of Colour-Moss Green

As it is freakishly unseasonably hot in the UK today I chose a summer dress for this weeks colour challenge.

The dress is from Zaara. I got it a while ago in a SL hunt. The dress is still available instore. Zaara's designs are classics IMO. No meshy nonsense in this dress,just a good old 'show your knee length knickers' when you walk, prim attachment.

I am loving the short hair from Tram. It is reminiscent of a 1920s crop I think. I do like Asia in short hair as she is not really a girly girl (uh oh my cartoon girl now seems to have developed personality traits)

The shoes are from Angelic Levre Couture. They are colour change via a hud. I threw on some of my all time favourite jewellery by Mariposa. I got it from her store (which is sadly gone now) but guess what? yep! it's available on The Marketplace too.

The Alphabet Challenge ~D~

Hmmm Asia looks like a homeless bench sleeping pimp in that pic :) Anyhoo D!

It was pretty easy this week as I actually had stuff in my inventory. I chose the vest and pants from DCNY, a pimp-eque (new word) hair hat combo from Dura and the Dante heels from Kalnins. Jewellery is past group or free item from Dark Mouse. I has a teeny problem finding a skin, then found an old 'Dressing Room' item from Dekade hiding among the cobwebs in my inventory.

52 Weeks of Colour-Khaki!

Here we are again, The weeks are really flying by now. What on earth will I blog about without 52WOC to urge/prompt me on?

Khaki is one of those colours that can be interpreted a couple of ways. Wiktionary describes it as a yellowish brown colour and the colour of dust. Where as I always thought Khaki was a green shade.

It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things but the dress I used for this weeks challenge leans more towards that yellowish brown than the green.

I downloaded the latest Firestorm viewer after a suggestion/comment on one of my posts (Thanks for that Khloe) and....drum roll please......I LIKE IT!

All Firestorm ready I decided to try another mesh dress.. The dress is from Maii @ The Markeplace. The dress came with shoes and a shape (not worn) and this time it fitted me without any SL shape tweaking. It's a great dress and a great intro price of 99L$ makes it all the sweeter. The dress only comes in one size, BUT- there is a demo available to try the fit out.

A past Lelutka hair fair freebie and some bold jewellery from Elemental Earth Designs finished off my look.

52 Weeks of Colour- Brick Red!

Brick Red! We have had Fire Brick and now Brick Red, I wonder how many other 'brick' colours there are ? :)

Coffee in hand I fired up the lappy and toddled off to The Marketplace. The dress I found was priced at a teeny weeny 10L$, and no I didn't forget to add another 0. Passion4fashion also has an in world store.

The dress moves nicely and it's sooooooo inexpensive. Worth picking up for fancy dress or costume parties. I picked up a few things just in case I ever decide to reinvent myself as an English Scarlett O'Hara :-/  It comes with the cape/modesty boobie coverer thingy (shown above)or wear without for a sexier look.

I only added a bracelet, earrings and the ever popular 'Morrisania' hair from Damselfly and I was finished with another 52WOC. The bracelet and earrings are both really old group gifts from YS&YS

Alphabet Challenge ~ B ~

It's early days but I am liking the alphabet challenge. While inventory digging I have managed to  have a bit of a organise/clear out and even found some stuff I had forgotten I had.

So here we go with 'B'.

52 Weeks of Colour-Bronze!

Not wanting to break with my tried and tested pattern. I am LATE with this weeks colour.

I found a dress on The Marketplace that fitted to this weeks colour challenge. The package contains the dress with matching pumps and a shape (shape not worn) and cost 99L$. BUT it was mesh!

I am not currently using a mesh enabled viewer so had to step over to the dark side for a while (Viewer 3) to try the dress.

What can I say about my experience in using the official viewer? probably nothing that would be allowed on a 'no adult' content blog. It suckedddd. I could not get my eyes focused, rezzing took for ev-eeeeeeeeeeer and it just felt laggy and horrible.

Anyway after a lay down in a darkened room with an ice pack on my mouse finger & brain. Here is 'Bronze'

I was curious about the whole Mesh thing and TBH I wasn't blown away by it. That could be purely to do with the trauma (yes I said trauma) of using viewer3

What I wasn't crazy about:

1. Asia has the figure of a malnourished stick insect but this dress was too small. I had to tinker with Asia's shape (think teeny hips, teeny body fat numbers)
2. It made Asia look a bit blocky/chubby.

What I did like:

1. No sticking out limbs when taking pics

The dress itself is as sexy as hell! I will be trying other mesh items but I will wait until Firestorm is mesh friendly.

Boo!! Here I am again, preparing to jump aboard another blog challenge. This time it's the Alphabet Challenge thrown down by the girls at willowzee.com

52 Weeks of Colour-Liver!

Liver, hmm grey? brown? grey/brown?, brown/grey?  I give up. The swatch on Luna's site looked a grey colour to me.

Wiki wasn't much help to me unless I wanted to know about horses and dogs coats (which I don't) I finally settled on a grey colour.

My dress is the 'Shelly Slip Dress' from aDiva. It's available instore in other colours and costs a suprisingly low 225L$. I am wearing 'Liver' (Thank you AnneJoy ). I love the crochet/lace look at the back of this dress. It's sexy classy and cute all rolled into one.

Hoc has released  a couple of new shoe designs.  I am wearing the 'Country Wedges'. As always fantastic designs for teeny prices. The shoes are colour change via a user friendly hud.

I added the 'Morrisania' hair from Damsel Fly and jewellery by Finesmiths and I was waving bubye to Liver.
