Walking it off

After a major Christmas food overload a nice walk in the snow was needed, well at least in SL it was.

I wanted to show a few of the nice things that were given out as group gifts or just seasonal freebies.

SF designs gave us this stylish winter coat in their subscribo. A free fur hat and gloves are also available in store. If you want a well made coat check out SF Designs. Swafette Firefly knows how to put a coat together IMO. Male and Female versions of the coat are included.

To keep our pixel ears warm on all the beautiful snowy sims that are around at the moment, a cute hat is always needed. This hat/hair is one of the instore 'Happy Christmas' gifts from Analog Dog. The hat is texture change. I opted for the 'Red Tweed' to match the coat. Queue Marlowe is the Queen of curly hair textures in SL so if you want soft bouncy curls TP your way to Analog Dog. There are two other free styles also available.

Lastly my patchwork boots which are an instore freebie at Lassitude and Ennui. These are beautifully made boots and come with the alpha foot hider for the V2 viewers.

So if your wallet is looking slightly empty after the Xmas indulgences why not log in and pick up a few freebies.

Total Pants!

Pants or trousers as we UK folks call them,whatever you call them, I found some great ones today. Teamed with some other goodies I picked up at DCNY and EMO-tions.

Like Plaiting Fog

Happy Sunday Girls & Boys.

It's Taste of Second Life  time again,this weeks theme is 'Favourite Colours'

I ran right over to pick up Sassy Kitty's contribution to the event the Sassy Willow Skirt in Black. A great long skirt is a rare find in SL.

I read somewhere or someone once told me( not sure which), if you are showing a lot of leg keep your top half covered and visa versa. 

As the skirt covers my legs I thought it was time to bring out Asia's tummy (all those trips to the fake gym have really paid off)

 

I have been doing some serious inventory sorting the last couple of days and uncovered some forgotten treasures like the Glance 'Chanel' skin I am wearing.

The earrings are courtesy of the camping swing at  U&R DOGS, camp for 10 minutes I sorted some more inventory while I was waiting.

A new store to me RYCA provided me with my glasses and necklace,which matched the earrings perfectly.  The store is packed floor to ceiling with big bold inexpensive jewellery and some really great glasses, I will be back for sure.

It has been a very long time since I visited EMO-tions and it's usually not my style but I noticed the pulled back braids (or plaits as we call them in the UK) one quick demo later the hair found a happy home in my inventory.

Exile is making room for new styles in a new year! This means 36 older styles will soon be retiring, and are available for a "last chance" discounted price in store, 50L per color pack or 250L for all colors!

Naturally I went for a browse,the store was very busy and I really didn't get much past the entrance to the store.  While waiting around to rez I noticed to the left of the entrance NINE free hair do's, I cammed in for a better look.

Six for the girls and three for the boys (and girls) and 40 colours per pack.

Clean up on aisle 3 I think my inventory just exploded.

Flirty Shirty

A new month brings group gifts and yet more free items flooding into my already severely over weight inventory.

I don't keep all the group gifts and freebs I find, I may incorporate parts of an item or simply delete it, this is not always a reflection of the quality (but shushhhh sometimes it is) but that I know I wont wear it with any regularity.

For example January's group gift from Baiastice the Meredict shirt-bluette and Milva skirt I will keep. I may not wear it as the complete outfit but I like the sweater it would look great with jeans and the skirt would work with a shirt or jacket.

If you wear the outfit 'as is' you run the risk of meeting your thousand twin sisters while out shopping and we don't want that do we?

The Doppelganger Inc Tux dress I probably wont keep, it's a nice dress but too white if that makes any sense (probably not) and it just doesn't work on Asia, I would have worn it as a shirt but there is the bare belly thing going on if you don't wear the pants layer and I don't like that.

All in all it's a nice free item if you like the crisp white dress look or the crisp white belly showing shirt look. So Thank you to Baiastice and Doppleganger.

I teamed it with a belt from Callie Cline and some free tights from Latte, I don't know if these are still available but worth checking to see if they are.

Geek Chic

Dressing down doesn't have to mean dressing bad.

A warm sweater, cute pinafore dress and a funky hat are just the thing for a relaxed yet comfortable look.

Add a pair of funky glasses and we have a chic geek who is as at home in a library as she is running around the fashion stores of SL.

Santa's Sweetheart

Yet more prezzies for meeee.  I must have been a really good girl this year or Santa has a crush on me, don't know which but the gifts just keep on coming.

Skins galore (if galore means 2)  There are skins available in both the Curio group (left side of pic) and the Glam Affair (right side of pic) group (30L$ join fee) both equally as beautiful.

I am toying with buying a pack of the latest Glam Affair skin 'Jadis' and the Christmas gift is going a long way to persuade me.

I always liked Curio skins but thought they were better suited to the cute tiny girls not the leggy giant girls of SL, seems I was wrong as the Ice Queen skin is just fabulous, if only I could get red gloss that great in RL.

I also grabbed one of the newest releases from Glamorize, the Glam Mascara costing me a grand total of 5L$ for 4 eyelash tats! I can edit a pair of prim lashes but really why bother when you can just pop a pair of tattoo lashes and you are out the door.

Short cut to.....

Just a quickie blog to show the free cute short hair I found. The hair is from *eha and comes in six colours with a resize script.

The scarf is another hunt giftie from the FTLO Hunt it is the 'Remember Me Cowl' from Ingenue and comes in five colours.

Nice Ice Baby!

It's still arctic here in jolly old England so keeping in the OMG I'm freezing mood I went to check out the FTLO Ice Festival.

The sim is story book pretty with cute little snow topped huts housing some great stores. About 50 shops participate in FTLO Ice festival and each shop provide exclusive 100L product and treasure hunt prize.
Find Snow objects (snow flakes I think) around the sim.

I'm just a doll

Still skipping/lagging through this seasons hunts.

Found a super cute trouser, braces and t-shirt at {paper.doll}. These trousers are bang up to date with the extended waist and super tight fitting around the hips.  What's even better is that the clothes come on different layers to enable you to play around with jackets and different shirts. In short this is a great find.

I am going to have a further look around {paper.doll}I am in the mood for shopping today.

Oh I'm English so I will add an English English to American English translation here just in case :)

Talented Gentlemen

Two very talented gentleman who are among the biggest movers and shakers in the SL beautification game played early Santa over the last couple of days.

Kavar Cleanslate's Exile spoiled us with a preview of the new male skin line 'Mechanic' and for the Ladies the hair 'do'-'Rina' in chocolate swirl. I really like this hair it's sex kitten meets glamour girl meets my inventory pretty soon :). Head over to Exile and click the subscribo for both gifts.

Tricky Boucher seems to have been missing in action for a while, but he is back to tempt us with a sneak peek at his upcoming skin release 'Erika'. The Belleza group has a joining fee of L$250 which is so worth it as there are regular group gifts for both male and females. The gift is available in the group notices and comes in six skin tones.

I like Belleza skins they are more mature looking and very classically beautiful and Tricky makes some of the hottest male skins on the grid.

If you want to get ahead, get a hat

Kyoot are going out of the hair business it seems. There are a couple of styles available, I demoed this a while ago and thought it was kind of cute, but not something I would wear much, fast forward to today add in a reduced price(50L$-one colour) and hey presto Asia has another cute hat/hair combo, the hair comes with three different coloured hats, but I recoloured it to match my old Callie Cline belt.

My all in one, jumpsuit, romper thingy was free at Mimi's Choice, its by Connors and can be found in one of the bags laying around the store, I really like the simplicity of this look.
